Campbell Primary School News

A new school on the block
Comment News – February 5-11, 2002

More than 300 children found themselves in unfamiliar classroom surroundings at Canning Vale’s new $5.2 million Campbell Primary School when it opened it’s doors on February 4th 2002.

One of three new primary schools to open in WA this semester, Campbell Primary can accommodate more than 500 students.

Education Minister Alan Carpenter said the completion of Campbell Primary School was part of a summer holiday building program.

More than $20 million was spent on capital works and maintenance at Government schools during the break.

”Campbell Primary School, at the corner of Campbell Street and Comrie Road, has 12 classrooms, three early childhood rooms, two education support classrooms, library resource centre, art-craft and music rooms and a dental health unit,” he said.

”The state-of-the-art  school is equipped for the provision of the latest in computer technology, including fire-optic cabling throughout the classrooms.”

The Inaugural principal is Peter Glendenning, previously principal at Beeliar Primary School.
