132kV Power Lines Realignment along Campbell Road
and Comrie Street, Canning Vale

Submitted by the Brookland Greens Residents Association
( November 2001)

In response to its correspondence, the Brookland Greens Residents Association has received a letter from the General Manager Networks, Western Power, this advises that:

The line will not be relocated as previously proposed

  • It is the developer’s responsibility to propose a suitable route and to obtain approvals from the landowners and other affected stakeholders

  • Western Power has advised the developer and the Education Department that until an alternative route can be agreed by them that Western Power will not proceed with moving the transmission line.

Western Power has a policy of ‘prudent avoidance, with regard to EMF emissions and is aware of public perceptions about health issues associated with high tension power lines. It halted progress on the proposed relocation once it became aware of community objections and thanked the association for raising the matter with them.
